MTS Company Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 01/06/2019

About this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how we, MTS Company, collect and use personal information that we collect through the tools-plus.com website and any other internet websites, apps, and technologies we provide to our customers (collectively, “Services”).  This Policy also applies to personal information collected from customers at our physical retail store, and the term “Services” includes the delivery of retail store services at our physical store.  This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use, our shipping and return goods policies, and other policies and terms made available on our website and Services.

This Privacy Policy describes our current practices as of the effective date written above. If those practices change, then we will post a modified copy of this Privacy Policy to our website and update the effective date.

Information We Collect

“Personal Information” means information that may be used directly, or indirectly, to identify an individual user of our Services, including visitors to our website. The Personal Information we collect includes your name, mailing address, billing address, email address, phone number, and areas of interest. We collect this Personal Information by asking you for it, either when you register for an account on our website or place an order on our website.

The Personal Information we collect also includes your order history (including past shipping addresses) and information about the contents of your shopping cart on the website.  We may also collect Personal Information about your payment preferences, including your account name (but not your password) to payment services, such as PayPal.

Tracking Information, Including Cookies

Our website uses a variety of tracking tools, such as “cookies,” “tracking pixels,” and “beacons” to allow us to understand which parts of our website you are using at any specific time and to allow us to recognize you when you come back to our website. Some of these are provided by third-party vendors.

In addition, our computer servers keep a log of various activities performed on our websites by our users and record information about the browsers and devices used to access the website. These logs and tools also allow us to manage and optimize the website by, for example, seeing which pages are visited frequently and how long they are visited and identifying errors on the website that may only affect a portion of our users.

Our website uses Google Analytics, a service that transmits website traffic data to Google servers.  Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.  We use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand website traffic and usage.

We also include a tracking pixel from Google that enables you to see our ads when a marketing campaign is running in other sites that support Google ad products and show our products or text to you. With the use of this remarketing feature, information about your browsing behavior is collected for marketing purposes in an anonymous form and stored on your computer using cookies.

Similarly, we include a Facebook pixel and if we are running advertising with Facebook, it may use collected product data from that pixel to remarket those products to you on Facebook.

Sales and Other Disclosures of Personal Information

We do not sell Personal Information to third parties.

Personal Information may sometimes be made available to our vendors and contractors in order for them to provide services to us. For example, we will provide Personal Information to our payment vendors to process your payments. When those vendors and contractors have access to personal information, we require the vendors and contractors to protect that personal information and not to use it, except to provide products and services to us.

We may provide Personal Information to our suppliers of products you have purchased to assist with warranty registration or to address customer service issues or otherwise facilitate delivery of ordered products to you or account for the transaction.

Occasionally, we may provide Personal Information to law enforcement agencies in connection with reports and investigations into possibly illegal activity.  Further, if our business is ever sold, the acquiring company will receive any Personal Information that we have in our possession at the time.

Our Use of Personal Information

We use Personal Information to fulfill orders, interact with our customers regarding their orders, respond to customer inquiries, and notify customers about product recalls. In addition, we will use Personal Information in marketing communications to those of our customers who have opted-in to receiving those messages.

If you submit a review of a product through our Services, that review may be posted to the website, along with your first name, city, and state. We also use the Personal Information of members and former members of our MTS Company Rewards Program to administer that program.

In addition, we may aggregate Personal Information to discover trends in our sales data, to help set our prices and inventory, to help determine which products to carry, to optimize the user experience on our website, and for other internal purposes.  Aggregate Personal Information does not contain information about individuals.

Finally, we may use Personal Information to detect fraud and illegal activities on our site and may report the same to law enforcement.

Marketing Preferences

If you have an account on our website, you may change your preferences regarding marketing communications associated with such an account By emailing us at  privacy@mytoolsstorecom  and requesting to unsubscribe from marketing communications.

In addition, our marketing emails each contain an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom which may be used to manage these preferences.  Note that changes in these preferences may not be immediately effective as it can take some time for them to propagate through our computer systems.

Your changes to your marking preferences will not affect communications with you regarding your customer service inquiries, complaints, recalls, rebates or your submitted reviews. Further, these marketing preferences will not affect whether you continue to see our advertisements on other websites.

Payment Card Information

We treat the payment card information that you provide to us in accordance with data security standards adopted by the payment card industry. In particular, your payment card information, and other order information, is encrypted between your computer and our servers.

We do not store your credit card information.  However, the service we use to process credit cards (currently PayPal) may allow you to store your credit card information with them.  We are not responsible for PayPal or its privacy policy or practices.

Links to Other Websites

Our Website may contain links to websites operated by third parties, including product manufacturers, service providers, and others. This privacy policy does not apply to those websites and you will be subject to the privacy practices of the providers of those websites, which will likely be different than our practices.

You acknowledge that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and that we cannot guarantee complete security.
